Business and community leaders welcomed a new business to town Thursday, with the grand opening of Grocery Outlet in Westminster.

The new Westminster store, located at 15412 Goldenwest Street, is part of the company’s plan to open 14 stores in Southern California over the next year. The expansion is expected to bring low prices for shoppers — and more than 500 jobs to the local economy, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

At the December 10 Grand Opening event hosted by the Westminster Chamber of Commerce, Scott and Kelli Wiggins, owners of the Grocery Outlet in Westminster, accepted a special Certificate of Recognition from Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do.

The Wiggins are no strangers to Orange County. In 2010, the couple opened the Grocery Outlet in Fountain Valley, according to the Daily Pilot.
